WACO, Texas – Baylor men's basketball head coach Scott Drew announced roster updates for the 2025-26 season, including the addition of center James Nnaji. Drew also confirmed that Juslin Bodo Bodo will remain out for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
"James is a really talented young player with a ton of potential, and we're excited to welcome him to the Baylor Family," Drew said. "Any time you add someone to the roster midseason, it's going to be a process to get them acclimated and up to speed, but we know James will do everything he can to make it a seamless transition. Our immediate focus is on helping him take things step by step to ensure it's best for both him and the team when he's able to take the court."
The 7'0 center comes to Waco after spending the last four seasons playing in the EuroLeague. Nnaji was selected as the 31st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons before his rights were traded to the Charlotte Hornets and later the New York Knicks. The Makurdi, Nigeria, native was ranked as the 24th-best prospect in the ESPN Top 100.
Bodo Bodo will remain out for the remainder of the season after suffering an arm injury over the summer.
"Juslin has worked incredibly hard throughout his rehab and has done everything asked of him to get back on the floor," Drew stated. "Even through this setback, he has continued to be an unbelievable teammate by bringing energy every day, supporting his brothers and representing Baylor the right way. While he will be out for the remainder of the season, he will continue to have an impact on our team's success."
Bodo Bodo, a transfer from High Point, was named the 2025 Big South Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season after pulling down a team-high of 8.4 rebounds per game, while ranked second-best in the conference and 47th-best in the country. One of the best offensive rebounders in the country, Bodo Bodo helped the Panthers to 29 wins and a Big South regular-season and conference-tournament title for the 2024-25 season.
