EQ, WBB Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference has announced its Winter Academic All-Big 12 honorees, released Tuesday.
Baylor had 29 student-athletes named across the Equestrian and Women's Basketball programs. WBB had four student-athletes earn honors while EQ garnered 25.
Per the conference, to qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher either cumulative or over the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
There were 657 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 team for the winter, 70 of those being women's basketball players and 66 of them being from an equestrian team.
