Bears set for home-and-away series with UCF, TCU and Texas Tech
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its opponent matrix for the 2025-26 women's basketball season on Thursday morning.
Baylor, coming off a 15-3 record in conference play that saw the program's 16th all-time appearance in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship title game, will face six teams exclusively at home or on the road and will play home-and-away series against three additional schools.
Baylor will continue its rivalry with TCU in a home-and-away format for the 13th time in the past 14 seasons. The Bears will also meet Texas Tech in a two-game series, marking the 104th and 105th all-time matchups between the in-state foes. UCF rounds out the home-and-away opponents, led by former Baylor assistant Sytia Messer, now in her fourth season as head coach of the Knights.
Arizona and Arizona State will make their first trips to Waco as conference opponents, making it the first-ever game against the Wildcats in Waco and the Sun Devils' first game in Waco since 2003. Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado and Houston will also play BU at Foster Pavilion. Of that group, only Colorado and Houston are making trips to Central Texas for consecutive seasons as part of last year's home-and-away series designations.
A trip to Salt Lake City will be a first for Baylor in its road slate, as the Bears face Utah for the first time on their home court while also making a cross-state trip to see the BYU Cougars in Provo. Cincinnati will play host to BU for just the second time in their Big 12 era, as Baylor also returns to see Iowa State, Oklahoma State and West Virginia in familiar conference road trips.
Opponents were selected based to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.
