BU head coach Scott Drew to join eight other coaches on NABC Board of Directors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Baylor men's basketball head coach Scott Drew will serve on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Board of Directors, the association announced Wednesday. The coaches officially began their terms on Sept. 2 by participating in the annual NABC Board of Directors fall meeting.
 
Drew is joined with eight head coaches, who collectively represent all three NCAA divisions, including North Georgia head coach Dan Evans, Yale head coach James Jones, Pomona-Pitzer head coach Charles Katsiaficas, Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry and Illinois head coach Brad Underwood.
 
The NABC Board of Directors is the NABC's top leadership body, providing strategic oversight of the association's daily operations and advocacy work. Minnesota State head coach Matt Margenthaler is serving as the NABC Board of Directors President for the 2025-26 season. The full board roster can be viewed here.
 
Entering his 23rd season in 2025-26, Drew is tied as the Big 12's longest-tenured head coach and has notched a school-record 464 victories in his first 22 years, including a 31-13 postseason record since 2009.
   
Over the past 18 seasons, Drew has led Baylor to 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, five Sweet 16 berths, three trips to the Elite Eight, the 2021 National Championship, the program's first No. 1 national ranking in 2017, a Big 12 Conference-record 23-game winning streak in 2019-20, a five-week streak at No. 1 in 2020, and an entire season ranked in the nation's top-3 in 2021 and another five-week streak at No. 1 in 2022.
 
Baylor is one of five programs to reach the top-10 in six-straight seasons, averaging 24 wins per season since the first year Drew led BU to the NCAA Tournament in 2008, becoming one of the nation's most consistent programs with active streaks of 19 straight seasons with at least 18 wins and 13-straight postseason appearances.
 
BU will open its 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against Grand Canyon on Friday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m., held at the Foster Pavilion.
