SAN MARCOS, Texas – Baylor soccer dominated Texas State, 4-1, at the Bobcat Soccer Complex on Sunday night, taking advantage of a few Texas State miscues with a brace from third-year Bear
Tyler Isgrig.
Isgrig's two-goal night is the fourth brace of her career and the second against Texas State in San Marcos, as she and the TCU Horned Frogs once recorded a 3-0 win over Texas State in 2022.
Baylor stays unbeaten on the season and keeps the best start in the
Michelle Lenard era alive, moving to 4-0-2 in 2025 while also improving to 5-0-2 all-time against Texas State.
THE RUNDOWN
Baylor came out quick and got the first shot off in the sixth minute, but the ball soared over the crossbar from Isgrig. Just over a minute later, Texas State began their attack as Helen Alormenu got a good look that was barely off-target.
The Bobcats got in the rhythm with a pair of back-to-back corner kicks, finding the advantage off the second, as Victoria Meza's header got by Alvarez with an assist from Lilah Dupree.
Isgrig hit the equalizer with a rocket set piece, tying up the match in the 26
th minute after taking advantage of a Bobcat foul near the top of the box for her first goal of the 2025 season.
Baylor had a few more good looks at goal before halftime, but none came closer than
Aryanna Jimison's effort that hit the left post and deflected out of play.
In the 49th minute, Baylor took the lead with another goal from Isgrig, who found the bottom right corner for her fourth career brace and 21st career goal, thanks to an assist from
Lauren Omholt.
Texas State's Angela Gatto gave Baylor the 3-1 lead in the 64th minute on an own goal after a cross from
Callie Conrad. Later in the 69th, Gatto deflected another own goal off a
Theresa McCullough kick.
