Bears playing Brown on Friday, Harvard on Sunday at the Murr Tennis Center
BOSTON – The Baylor women's tennis team is set for a two‑match road trip this weekend at Harvard's Murr Tennis Center in Massachusetts, opening with Brown on Friday at 2 p.m. CT before facing Harvard on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT.
Baylor (2-3) enters the weekend undefeated in the all‑time series against both opponents, holding a 2-0 record against Brown (5-2) and a 5-0 mark against Harvard (4-4).
The Bears and Brown last met in February 2024, when Baylor extended its dominance in the series with a 6-1 win in Waco. The Bears will see a Brown team coming off a 1-2 performance at last weekend's ECAC Championships.
Brown does not feature any nationally ranked singles players, but its doubles team of Daniella Benabraham and Abigail Lee is ranked No. 85 with a 6-5 overall record, all compiled during fall tournament play.
Harvard, Baylor's second opponent of the weekend, hosts the Bears after topping Dartmouth, 4-3, last week. The Crimson had dropped their previous two matches at the ECAC Championships, falling 4-1 to Princeton and 4-3 to Brown.
Harvard fields one ranked doubles pairing in No. 42 Kavya Karra and Stephanie Yakoff, who hold an 11-3 record this season. Yakoff is also ranked No. 66 in singles with a 14-2 mark.
Baylor has five ranked entries following the release of the first spring rankings. The Bears appear in back-to-back doubles listings with Kennedy Gibbs and Na Dong at No. 70, followed by Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha at No. 71. In singles, Dong is ranked No. 62, Kubacha sits at No. 89, and freshman Mu-Jie Tzeng comes in at No. 98.
In its most recent match, Baylor fell to Washington after dropping the doubles point despite a strong 6-1 win from Kubacha and Dong on Court 1. In singles play, the Bears dropped three straight matches as the Huskies clinched the 4-0 result.
