BOSTON – Baylor women's tennis earned a dominant 5-2 win over Brown on Friday at Harvard's Murr Tennis Center.
Baylor (3-3) looked sharp from start to finish, claiming the doubles point quickly before cruising through singles play against the Brown Bears (5-3).
THE RUNDOWN
In doubles, Zuzanna Kubacha and Neda Rahimkani rolled to a 6-1 win on Court 1. Na Dong and Mu-Jie Tzeng followed with a 6-3 victory on Court 2 to secure the doubles point and give Baylor a 1-0 lead.
In singles, Dong was first off the court with a 6-3, 6-2 win on Court 2. Kubacha extended the lead with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on Court 1, and Kennedy Gibbs clinched the match for Baylor on Court 3, winning 6-2, 6-3.
With the overall result decided, Luna Ivkovic dropped a tight match on Court 6, 6-4, 6-1. Tzeng added another point for the Bears with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (2) win on Court 4, while Alian Zack fought hard on Court 5 before falling 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (12).
