Scott averaged 24.0 points against No. 17 TCU and UCF, scoring 1,000th career point.
IRVING, Texas – Baylor women's basketball redshirt sophomore Taliah Scott has been named to the Big 12 Starting Five for the seventh time this season, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Orange Park, Fla. native averaged 24.0 points per game through the week, scoring 22 at home before adding 26 on the road at UCF, with 21 of those coming in the first half in Orlando.
Scott scored her 1,000th career point against TCU to become the 22nd player since 2000 to reach 1,000 career points in 48 games or fewer, tying the 19th fewest games needed in that span.
Her honor is Baylor's 150th all-time weekly award from the Big 12. It also marks her ninth overall weekly accolade, including two selections as a USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week.
The Big 12 recognized TCU's Olivia Miles as Player of the Week and Kansas' Jaliya Davis as Freshman of the Week and also named Anaëlle Dutat and McKinna Brackens to its Starting Five for the week.
Scott was also named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Midseason Top 10 list, where at the time of the announcement she ranked No. 2 in scoring among the nation's top shooting guards, and to the 2026 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Late-Season Team as one of 11 underclassmen on the 30-player list.
No. 15 Baylor WBB is in the midst of a busy stretch, readying for Game No. 3 of 5 in a 12-day span as it faces No. 20 Texas Tech in Lubbock on Wednesday evening. Through 14 games of conference play, the Bears are tied at the top of the league with TCU, half a game in front of West Virginia and one game ahead of Texas Tech.
The Bears return home to Foster Pavilion on Saturday to host Arizona for senior night with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Two days later, the Kansas State Wildcats come to Waco to close the home regular season from the Banks of the Brazos River.
