ORLANDO, Fla. – In down-to-the-wire fashion, Baylor men's basketball picked up a crucial Big 12 road win at Addition Financial Arena, 87-86, with Obi Agbim sinking a game-winning free throw in the final second.
Baylor (15-14, 5-11 Big 12) shot 47-percent from the field including an 82-percent (18-of-22) at the line to carry the Bears over the Knights on the road. UCF (20-8, 9-7 Big 12) came back from a 14-point halftime deficit and tied the game in the final minute of the game, but the Bears came away due to clutch free throws made.
Four Bears finished in double-figures, including Cameron Carr who ended with 26 points after going a perfect 10-for-10 at the line. Carr dropped 20 points in the first half, sinking four-of-six threes, and became the first Baylor player to score 20 points in the first half in a Big 12 game since King McClure (20) at Oklahoma State (1/14/19).
Dan Skillings Jr. had a conference season-high with 15 points, eight of those coming in the second half during crucial minutes. Isaac Williams IV kept his hot streak going with 14 points and five assists. Agbim finished with 12 points and tied his season-best with seven assists.
Yessoufou led the team with eight rebounds while chipping in nine points. With Yessoufou's nine points, he broke the freshman program record of points in a season with 510, a record that had been held by Aaron Bruce since 2004-05.
THE RUNDOWN
Getting it going in a late night in the Sunshine State, Carr opened with a bucket from deep, his third game in a row with a made three. UCF responded with a 6-0 run, but BU didn't let the lead go quickly, pursuing a back-and-forth battle with seven lead changes. At the first media timeout of the half, the Knights narrowly took the lead, 14-12, after holding the Bears to zero field goals the last three minutes of play.
Williams, who has been on a tear the last five games for the Bears, scored five quick points with a triple and a driving layup and tied the game 17-all. Coming out of the media time out, BU sank four of the its five field goals to go up 22-19 with Yessoufou snagging his first points on the night with a made three.
Carr continued his impressive campaign, grabbing double-figures in the first half for the 21st time this season and nailing this third deep ball from the night. The redshirt sophomore continued to pour it on, snagging 20 points and becoming the first Bears in seven years to do so in the first half in a Big 12 game.
Baylor found its groove at Addition Financial Arena, going seven-for-seven from the field and taking a lead as large as 15. Williams reached double-figures in the first half for the fifth time this season, going perfect from the field, five-for-five. The Bears snapped out of their lull and held a 6-0 run, going up 66-61 after the under-12 media timeout. Skillings Jr. reached double-figures with an and-one layup, achieving a conference high in points and made field goals.

The Bears and Knights kept battling and at the one-minute mark, the Knights tied the game up 84-84. Agbim nailed a clutch bucket with the shot clock winding down but UCF tied it back up at the free throw line.
With only three seconds remaining, Agbim was fouled from behind the arc and brought to the free throw line. With a loud and rowdy crowd to face, Agbim missed the first attempt but sank the second.
