
WT Wins over West Virginia, 5-2

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 47 Baylor women's tennis completed a successful road trip on Sunday, capped off with a 5-2 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The Bears (7-4, 3-1 Big 12) dominated the Mountaineers (6-5, 0-4 Big 12) throughout both doubles and singles, only losing two matches throughout the day in a 5-2 victory.
THE RUNDOWN
Baylor started off hot in doubles, quickly earning the doubles point at the Mountaineer Tennis Center. Kennedy Gibbs and Neda Rahimkhani ended their match first on Court Two with a quick 6-3 victory. Following shortly after, Zuzanna Kubacha and Gabrielle Villegas won their match on Court Two, 6-3, to secure the doubles point.
Singles play carried the momentum for the Bears as they rolled through the Mountaineers. Mu-Jie Tzeng struck first on Court Four with a quick 6-2, 6-1 win. Not long after, Dong extended the lead with a 6-3, 6-0 victory on Court One. Zack then clinched the match for Baylor, posting a 6-0, 6-4 win.
With the victory secured, Kubacha added another point on Court Two, 7-5, 6-4, before the final two matches went to third‑set tiebreakers. On Court Three, Gibbs fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-7(9), giving West Virginia its first point. The Mountaineers picked up a second point on Court Six, where Luna Ivkovic narrowly dropped a 6-2, 3-6, 6-7(6) decision.
