
MBB Concludes Season in CBB Crown Semifinals, 82-69

LAS VEGAS – Baylor men's basketball fell to Oklahoma 82-69 at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday morning in the College Basketball Crown Semifinals.
Despite the Bears' efforts, including 38 total rebounds and 30 points in the paint, the Sooners secured the victory by shooting 50% from the field and generating 21 points off turnovers. Baylor (17-17, 6-12 Big 12) managed to lead five times throughout the game, but Oklahoma's (21-15, 7-11 SEC) consistent scoring maintained its advantage.
Cameron Carr finished with his fourth double-double with 14 points and tying a career-high of 12 rebounds. Carr ended the season as the program-leading sophomore in points on the season with 642 total points.
Tounde Yessoufou and Isaac Williams IV led BU in scoring with 15 points each. Yessoufou holds the freshman program title in points with 605 season points. Dan Skillings Jr. earned 12 points, his 18th double-figure performance of the season.
THE RUNDOWN
The semifinals of the College Basketball Crown began with an offensive lull on both ends of the floor, with both teams shooting just 20-percent in the first four minutes of action. The Sooners took the early lead, 5-3. Out of the media timeout, Agbim nailed a three, but the momentum quickly swung to OU with the Sooners going a 9-0 run to go up 14-6.
But the Bears didn't give up easily, responding with a 7-0 run of their own with Dan Skillings Jr. snagging five quick points and Caden Powell slam dunking to get BU back in the game, 16-15.
Baylor and Oklahoma went on an offensive battle with the game staying in a one possession game for the next six minutes. Every Bear in rotation got on the board and BU found themselves in a battle 27-25 just barely trailing at the under-eight timeout.
Offensive movement proved to be crucial with the Sooners taking a two-possession gain of 39-32 with three minutes left to play of the half. From there, Oklahoma found some stride and went into the locker room with its largest lead of the half 45-35.
Out of the half, BU went on an electric 11-1 run with back-to-back threes by Carr. The Baylor defense held OU to zero field goals for over four minutes to tie the game up 48-48. At the under-16 timeout, the Bears were outscoring the Sooners 13-3 in the second half.
After finding the basket in five consecutive possessions, Baylor found itself with its first lead of the day, 52-51, after a layup under the basket by Yessoufou.
Carr found himself with his fourth double-double of the season and the Bears held four players in double-figures. Oklahoma defense caused some issues for Baylor and OU narrowly took back the lead, but Baylor remained determined in the one possession game, 59-57.
The Sooners maintained a 9-0 run to extend their lead 72-61 with four minutes left remaining. OU held BU to no field goals for four minutes while driving the lead.
Oklahoma continued to hold strong and earned the win 82-69 to advance to the finals.
