Gabe Awbrey serves Baylor Athletics as the Men’s Basketball Director of Video Operations.

He began his role as the Director of Video Operations on May 3, 2024. During his first season full-time in 2024-25, Awbrey assisted in maintaining Baylor’s place among the top programs in the country with a school-record sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. BU’s run to the NCAA Tournament marked 13-straight postseason appearances, the fifth-longest active streak in the nation. Ranked as high as No. 8, Baylor extended its streak of being ranked in the top 10 for six straight years, joining Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky, and Kansas.

Awbrey previously spent two seasons on staff as a graduate student manager for Scott Drew and the Bears in 2022-23 and 2023-24 helping the Bears to back-to-back 20-win seasons and back-to-back double-digit conference wins. BU is the only Big 12 School to have five-straight 11-win conference seasons.

Before his stint in Waco, Awbrey served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Manhattan Christian College, from 2021-22 and at Palmer Ridge High School from 2020-21. He received his bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry from Manhattan Christian College in 2020 and earned his master’s degree in Sports Pedagogy from Baylor in May 2024.
