George Goldhoff 2020 Headshot

George Goldhoff

George Goldhoff finalized his second season in 2022 after joining the Baylor men’s tennis staff in August 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach.

"George has been an instrumental part of the success of our program over the past two seasons," said head coach Michael Woodson. "The passion, commitment, and experience that he displayed throughout his time in Waco took these young men and our team as a whole to new heights. The impact he has made here will be long-lasting around the Hurd and we are happy to call him a forever Baylor Bear. As young new head coach, my support staff has been critical to helping me guide what has been and will continue to be a perennial powerhouse in collegiate tennis. I really could not do it without them, and George has had as big of an influence on me as anyone. I will forever be grateful to him for his friendship, mentorship, and servant leadership to our program. We wish him all the very best in his pursuit of a professional doubles career and look forward to supporting him throughout!"

Goldhoff was integral in the 2022 season being a success for the Bears. He helped BU to its fifth year in a row with 20 or more wins, third-straight year to make the NCAA Quarterfinals, Big 12 Tournament Champions for the third year in a row, and a final ITA ranking of No. 4, finishing in the top-5 in back-to-back seasons. He coached doubles pair Adrian Boitan and Tadeas Paroulek to be court three Big 12 position champions and named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team with a record of 13-6 for the season, 3-1 in Big 12 play. Goldhoff coached courts three and five for the Bears in singles as well. Paroulek earned the Most Outstanding Performer award for the Big 12 Championship after winning both matches against Texas and TCU. The Bears had Doubles All-Americans Sven Lah and Finn Bass along with Singles All-American Adrian Boitan. Goldhoff helped coach court three singles player Sven Lah to a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team as well as both Lah and Paroulek being named to All-Big 12 Singles Teams. He assisted Lah to becoming just the fourth Baylor player to be a part of the 200 Club with 100-plus wins on both the singles and doubles sides. Goldhoff has coached Lah for the past two seasons in singles.

"Having George as part of our program the last two years has been incredible," said junior Finn Bass. His passion, hard work and competitiveness was second to none and he will be greatly missed. I personally always loved being with George in the heat of battle out there on the court and I'm grateful we got to share those memories together."

In 2021, Goldhoff helped guide the Bears to a historic season which produced the program's all-time record for wins in a single season (34), as well as trips to the NCAA National Championship and ITA National Team Indoor Championship, and the program's first No. 1 overall ranking since 2005. The Bears also earned a share of the Big 12 regular-season title and won the Big 12 Tournament Championship for their 23rd and 24th all-time league trophies.

Along the way, the Bears produced four ITA All-Americans, six All-Big 12 selections, three Big 12 individual champions, the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, five Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team representatives, two NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team members and a selection to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship All-Tournament Team.

Prior to coming to Baylor, Goldhoff spent three years playing professionally on the ATP Tour from 2017-2020 following a four-year collegiate career at the University of Texas.
