- Title:
- Associate Head Coach
Jared Goldberg joined the Baylor volleyball staff in 2026 after establishing himself as one of the most successful and innovative young coaches in collegiate volleyball.
Goldberg arrived in Waco following five seasons as head men's volleyball coach at The Master's University, where he transformed the Mustangs into a national powerhouse. During his tenure, he compiled a 112-28 (.800) record while leading TMU to four Golden State Athletic Conference regular-season championships, four GSAC Tournament titles, four NAIA National Tournament appearances and the 2025 NAIA National Championship.
A two-time AVCA NAIA National Coach of the Year (2024, 2026), Goldberg guided The Master's through the most successful stretch in program history. The Mustangs posted a perfect 27-0 record in 2025 en route to the program's first national championship and followed with a 24-2 mark and another NAIA National Tournament semifinal appearance in 2026. TMU also finished as the national runner-up in 2024 after posting a 26-3 record.
Under Goldberg's leadership, the Mustangs became one of the top programs in the country regardless of affiliation. From 2023-26, TMU compiled a 13-2 record against NCAA Division I and II opponents, recording victories over nationally ranked programs including Stanford, Pepperdine, Hawai'i, UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge. Between the 2025 and 2026 seasons, the Mustangs tied the collegiate men's volleyball record with a 47-match winning streak.
Goldberg developed some of the nation's top players during his time at The Master's. He coached four consecutive AVCA NAIA National Players of the Year from 2023-26 while mentoring 15 All-Americans. His teams featured seven NAIA First Team All-Americans, four Second Team All-Americans and four Third Team All-Americans. He also recruited the first top-10 nationally ranked men's volleyball prospect to sign with an NAIA institution.
In addition to his success on the court, Goldberg oversaw compliance eligibility certification for more than 350 student-athletes across The Master's athletic department and built one of the largest social media followings in collegiate volleyball. Through creative branding and digital engagement, he grew the program's social media presence from approximately 600 followers to more than 130,000 across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Prior to his time at The Master's, Goldberg spent four years at Harvard University, serving as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs.
With the Crimson men's program, Goldberg served as primary recruiting coordinator and helped assemble the largest recruiting class in school history. He played a key role in Harvard's first NCAA Tournament appearance after the Crimson captured the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association postseason championship. During his tenure, Harvard student-athletes earned multiple AVCA All-America honors, All-EIVA selections and academic accolades while the program maintained perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores for three consecutive years.
On the women's side, Goldberg helped coach multiple All-Ivy League selections and an Academic All-District honoree while assisting with recruiting, travel operations and program administration.
Before Harvard, Goldberg spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Morehead State, where he helped engineer a dramatic turnaround for the Eagles. After a three-win season in 2014, Morehead State posted double-digit victories and earned Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearances in both 2015 and 2016. The Eagles also captured the OVC Team Academic Achievement Award during the 2015-16 academic year.
Goldberg has also gained experience on the international stage. He served as head coach of Team USA at the 2018 FISU America Games, leading the squad to a bronze medal. He also worked with USA Volleyball as a technical coordinator for the 2015 Women's Junior National Team and assisted with scouting, statistical analysis and player development for multiple national team programs.
Away from the collegiate sidelines, Goldberg has held leadership roles with the Capitol Hill Classic Volleyball Tournament, one of the nation's largest volleyball events. In that role, he assisted with tournament operations, scheduling, sponsorship management and event administration for thousands of teams and matches.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Goldberg played at Grand Canyon University after beginning his career at the University of the Pacific. He earned MIVA All-Academic Team honors in 2012 and 2013 and later served as captain of the USA Open Men's Volleyball Team at the 2013 Maccabiah Games.
Goldberg is the son of AVCA Hall of Fame coach Barry Goldberg. He married his wife Aryn, a former Morehead State volleyball player, in 2017. The couple has three sons: Silas, Simeon, and Samson.
Goldberg earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Grand Canyon University and completed his Master of Business Administration at Ole Miss.
