Women's Golf Fourth After Opening Round in Rhodes

RHODES, Iowa - RHODES, Iowa - Baylor's women's golf team is in fourth place with an opening round 335 at the Big 12 Championships hosted by Iowa State. The tournament is being held at the Harvester Golf Course in Rhodes, Iowa.
The Bears, ranked 27th nationally by Golfstat, are led by junior Nicole Johnson who shot a first round 82 and is tied for eighth place.
Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears are sophomore Melanie Hagewood who shot an 83 (t14), junior Tara Bateman is tied with freshman Michaelyn Morgan for 23rd, both ladies shot an 85, and sophomore Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson is tied for 27th place with an 87.
The Bears finished in the top 10 of all their tournaments this season, including a victory at the Michigan Fall Invitational in September 2000.
