Baylor Women’s Golf Heads North to Oklahoma for Schooner Fall Classic

BU women’s golf looks to build on third-place finish in Charleston
NORMAN, Okla. – Baylor women's golf returns to action this week at the Schooner Fall Classic, hosted at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.Â
Belmar GC will play 6,182 yards and is the longtime home of the Schooner Fall Classic. The par-70 layout is known for its elevation changes and native grasses that run through the Central Oklahoma farmland, creating a strong test for the field.Â
The 16-team field features seven Big 12 programs, including Baylor. As well as five teams in the field which competed at the 2026 NCAA Championships at La Costa last spring, with Baylor joined by Florida State, Houston, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.Â
Baylor will bring six players to Norman, with fifth-year Senior Bridget Boczar leading the lineup after her strong play in South Carolina. Junior Malena Castro will play in the No. 2 spot after posting two rounds under par at the Cougar Classic. Senior Yurang Li will be in the third spot, while Sophia Ellestad and Sophie Nooji will complete the five-person lineup as they both will be making their first collegiate starts. Senior Charlottee Brooke will also be making the trip and will be competing as an individual.Â
As a team the Bears enter the week following a third-place finish at the season-opening Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C., where Baylor finished ahead of four teams who were in front of them in the preseason poll. Individually, Boczar led the way with a tie-for-second finish at 5-under.Â
The Schooner Fall Classic is set to start Saturday, Sept. 19th with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. Live scoring for the event can be found on Scoreboard by Clippd throughout the tournament.Â
