Women's Golf Tied for Seventh in New Mexico

WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team traveled to Albuquerque, N.M., and played the first round of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational today. With an opening round of 310, the Bears are tied with Texas A&M, TCU, Tulsa and New Mexico State for 7th place. The host, the University of New Mexico, leads the tournament by a score of 295 at their 6,096-yard, 73-par Championship Golf Course.

New Mexico's Kailin Downs shot 3-under par and leads the tournament with a score of 70. Baylor senior Michaelyn Morgan started the tournament with a score of 74, placing her in a four-way tie for 8th place. Freshman Anna Rehnholm is tied for 20th after her opening round of 76. Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson is tied for 26th after carding a 77.

The Bears will continue the tournament tomorrow and will finish their final round on Saturday.
