WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team finished play in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course Saturday afternoon (Sept. 27). The Bears finished in 12th place after posting a score of 935 over three rounds on the 6,069 yard course.
After sitting in sixth place after two rounds, the Bears shot a final round of 323 to drop to 12th place in the 17-team tournament. New Mexico, the tournament host, shot 871 over three rounds to win the tournament.
Senior Kelli McKandless was Baylor's top finisher with a 232 which placed her in a tie for 35th place. She began the day tied for 43rd. Michaelyn Morgan tallied a 233 and Josefin Svenningsson carded a 234 to finish tied for 47th. Freshman Anna Rehnholm finished with a score of 237 and a 47th place tie.
In their next action, the Bears will travel to Las Cruces, N.M., to participate in the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Invitational on Oct. 6-8.
