The Baylor women's golf team shot 309 in the final round to end up with a score of 921 and finish ninth at the Verizon "Mo"Morial Invitational hosted by Texas A&M at the 6,118-yard, par-72 Blackhorse Golf Club Tuesday.
Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson led the Bears by shooting a 225 (73-77-75), and senior Kelli McKandless tied for 15th by shooting 228 (75-77-76).
Senior Michaelyn Morgan (79-78-79)and freshman Anna Rehnholm (80-77-79) tied for 50th, each shooting a 236, while sophomore Meredith Jones finished tied for 64th with a 240 (76-84-80).
Kansas State (292-313-304) and Missouri (298-304-307) tied for the tournament championship with a score of 909. Kansas State's Christine Boucher (70-77-72) shot 3-over par and took individual medalist honors by three strokes over Kansas' Amanda Costner and Missouri's Maria Ohlsson.
The Bears return to action at the St. Croix Collegiate Classic hosted by Xavier on March 12-14 at Carambola Golf Club in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
