BAYLOR HITS ROAD FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Baylor hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to take on the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks. The 10th-ranked Lady Bears enter the contest at 5-0 while Southeast Missouri State is 4-2 on the season.

LADY BEAR LEADERS
With five games under their belt, the Lady Bears boast all five starters averaging double-digit scoring. Leading the way is Jhasmin Player with 14.8 points a game, including a career-high 29 against Saint Mary's. In the same contest, the junior guard tied a school record, hitting 13-of-13 from the free throw line. Danielle Wilson ranks second with 14.4 points a game, the 6-3 post is the team's leading rebounder at 7.6 an outing. The squad's lone senior, point guard Angela Tisdale, follows with 13.6 a contest while Rachel Allison, a junior forward/post, averages 10.6 points an outing. Junior guard Jessica Morrow accounts for 10.2 a game.

Player ranks behind Wilson in rebounding at 5.8 a game while freshman guard Melissa Jones also hauls down 5.8 a contest and sophomore Jessika Bradley manages 5.4 a game.

BAYLOR IN THE RANKINGS
After beginning the season ranked No. 15 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Preseason Polls, Baylor has now moved up to No. 10 in the AP poll, and has jumped four positions in the Coaches' Poll to No. 11. This marks Baylor's first top 10 AP ranking since the Jan. 8 poll last season when they were listed at No. 9.

Baylor has been ranked in a school-record 71 straight regular-season AP polls dating back to week nine of the 2003-04 listing when it broke in at No. 24.

THE OPPONENT
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI REDHAWKS

Southeast Missouri State enters Thursday's game with a 4-2 record, including a 3-0 mark in its Show Me Center. The Redhawks, 2006 and `07 NCAA Tournament participants, won their first four games before dropping two in a row. They have posted wins over Tulsa (67-45), Henderson State (59-58), Central Arkansas (91-60) and Cumberland (73-57) and have lost to Texas State (80-47) and Northern Colorado (60-49).

John Ishee is in his second season as the Redhawks' head coach, moving up from an assistant's position last season. He is 32-6 in his two seasons at Southeast.

The Redhawks have two players who lead the team in both scoring and rebounding. Sonya Daugherty, a 5-7 junior guard, leads the team in both scoring and rebounding at 16.3 and 6.5 boards a contest while senior Missy Whitney, a 6-2 center, ranks second in both categories at 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

SERIES RECORD
Thursday's contest marks the second meeting between Baylor and the Southeast Missouri Redhawks, a series that began last season. Baylor owns a 1-0 series lead after its 81-47 triumph in Waco last season on Dec. 2.

LAST MEETING
In the only previous meeting between Baylor and Southeast Missouri, Dec. 2, 2007, Baylor posted an 81-47 victory over the Redhawks in Waco. Baylor outscored the Redhawks 41-17 in the first half and dominated the boards with 54 to cruise to victory in the Ferrell Center.

Baylor returns 46 points from last season's game, including three players who scored in double figures (Angela Tisdale, 17; Jessica Morrow, 12; Danielle Wilson, 10). The Redhawks return 36 of their 47 points, but only Sonya Daugherty scored in double figures with 12.
