WACO, Texas - Senior forward Bernice Mosby was named an Associated Press All-America honorable mention pick, it was announced Wednesday.
Mosby, in her lone season at Baylor, led the team in both scoring and rebounding as the Lady Bears registered their seventh straight 20-win season finishing at 26-8. Her 17.6 points and 9.1 rebounds ranks No. 3 in the final Big 12 Conference statistics and she ranks among the top 50 nationally in both categories.
Mosby's honor marks the fifth time a Lady Bear has won AP All-America recognition. Danielle Crockrom was an honorable mention in 2002, Sophia Young and Steffanie Blackmon were second and third team picks, respectively, in 2005 and Young garnered 2006 first-team honors.
As one of five Big 12 players to earn AP All-America accolades, Mosby was named the league's Newcomer of the Year and received All-Big 12 first-team honors. In addition, she was named a finalist for WBCA/Kodak All-America, the Wooden Award and the Wade Trophy.
