FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Playing in its first tournament of the season, the Baylor women's golf team sits in sixth place after 36 holes at the 19-team Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.

After a morning round total of 292, the Bears closed out the day with an identical score of 292 in the second round to finish at 584 heading into the final round of play Tuesday morning.

"I'm very pleased with our performance today. Scores were exceptionally low considering we didn't have ideal conditions," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. "We're in a good position, but we've got to come out tomorrow and have four solid scores for a chance to move up on the leader board."

Morgan Chambers, a sophomore from Purcell, Okla., led the way for Baylor firing a first round 72, followed by a four-under 68 during Monday's final 18 holes. Chambers' first day total of 140 has her tied for seventh place, two shots off co-leaders Emily Childs and Shannon Yocum.

Baylor teammates Hannah Burke and Lene Hafsten-Morch are currently tied for 18 place with a two-round total of 145. After shooting a 78 during the first round, Hafsten-Morch recorded a second round best five-under 67 to head into the club house at just one-over par.

Jaclyn Jansen made her collegiate debut firing a 74 and 83 respectively for a two-round 157. Natalie Hocott also competed for Baylor, tallying a 158 over 36 holes.

The Baylor women will conclude the Ptarmigan Classic on Tuesday morning with the third and final round.
