GAME DAY STORY LINES
• The 25th-ranked €ˆBaylor Bears (14-2, 2-1) look to snap their seven-game Big 12 road losing streak Wednesday when they visit the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks (16-1, 2-0) in Allen Fieldhouse at 8 p.m. CST €ˆon ESPN2.
• In the last series meeting, Baylor snapped an eight-game losing streak to Kansas with a 71-64 win March 12, 2009, over the 14th-ranked Jayhawks in the 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Quarterfinals in Oklahoma City, Okla.
• Wednesday's game will feature the Big 12's top two teams in FG €ˆpercentage [Kansas (.502), Baylor (.499)] and FG €ˆpercentage defense [Kansas (.355), Baylor (.360)].
• Baylor is 6-43 (.125) in its last 49 Big 12 road games, including a 5-12 mark over the previous two seasons (1-7 last season).
• Baylor has won 74 games over the last three-plus seasons and needs one win to set the school record for most wins during a four-year stretch. From 1945-49, Baylor won 74 games and made two NCAA €ˆTournament appearances.
• Baylor is 14-23 (.378) in 37 regular season games against the Big 12 North in the Scott Drew era. In the seven previous Big 12 seasons prior to Drew's arrival, the Bears were 15-28 (.349) against Northern schools.
• Baylor is 11-6 (.647) -- 10-5 (.667) in the Scott Drew era -- when ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
• Baylor is 2-3 (.400) on the road when nationally ranked in either poll.
• Opponents are averaging 62.4 points per game against the Bears, down 3.2 points per game (66.3 points per game in 2008-09) from this time last season.
• Since posting a 21-53 record (.284) in Drew's first three seasons, Baylor is 74-44 (.627) in its last 118 games.
• In previous two career road games in Kansas (2008 at Kansas, 2009 at K-State), LaceDarius Dunn is averaging 28.0 points on 18-of-28 shooting (.643) and 14-of-22 from three-point range (.636).

• Baylor is 21-4 (.840) in its last 25 games, dating back to the end of the 2008-09 regular season.
• Baylor has held its opponents to under 40 rebounds in all 16 games this season.

SERIES HISTORY
• Wednesday is the 17th meeting in the series.
• Kansas leads the all-time series 14-2.
• Baylor snapped an eight-game losing streak to Kansas with a 71-64 win March 12, 2009, over the 14th-ranked Jayhawks in the 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Quarterfinals in Oklahoma City, Okla.
• Kansas has been ranked in each of the last 15 series meetings.
• Baylor is 2-12 against the Jayhawks in the Big 12 era.
A ROAD WIN IN THE BIG 12 IS HARD TO FIND
• Baylor is 6-43 (.125) in its last 49 Big 12 road games, including a 5-12 mark over the previous two seasons (1-7 last season).
• Baylor has lost seven straight Big 12 road games.
• Under Scott Drew, Baylor has posted road wins against five different Big 12 schools, but the Bears are still winless on the road at six others, including Kansas.
ANOTHER MILESTONE ON THE HORIZON
• Entering Wednesday's game at Kansas, Baylor is one why shy of posting its fourth consecutive season with 15 or more wins.
• It would be just the second time in program history that the Bears have posted 15-plus wins in four consecutive seasons -- 1967-68: 15, 1968-69: 18, 1969-70: 15, 1970-71: 18.
• Baylor has won 74 games over the last three-plus seasons and needs one victory to set the school record for most wins during a four-year stretch. From 1945-49, Baylor won 74 games and made two NCAA €ˆTournament appearances.
BAYLOR MORE SUCCESSFUL AGAINST BIG 12 NORTH
• Since the 2000-01 season, Baylor has had much more success against Big 12 North schools than those in the South. Baylor is 23-32 (.418) the last nine seasons vs. Northern schools in the regular season and just 19-72 (.209) against the South.
• Baylor is 14-23 (.378) in 37 regular season games against the Big 12 North in the Scott Drew era. In the seven previous Big 12 seasons prior to Drew's arrival, the Bears were 15-28 (.349) against Northern schools.
• Since Baylor's win at €ˆColorado in 2008, the Bears have won 9 of their last 17 regular season games against the Big 12 North.
BAYLOR AS A NATIONALLY RANKED TEAM
• Baylor is 11-6 (.647) -- 10-5 (.667) in the Scott Drew era -- when ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and 8-4 (.667) when ranked in the ESPN/USA €ˆToday Coaches €ˆTop 25 Poll.
• Baylor is 7-3 (.700) all-time -- all nine games have been in the last two seasons -- when ranked simultaneously in both polls.
• Baylor is 2-3 (.400) on the road when nationally ranked in either poll.
• Baylor is 9-3 (.750) at home when nationally ranked in either poll.
A BAYLOR WIN WOULD...
• Be its first win in Lawrence.
• Extend its series win streak to two games.
• Be its 11th in the last 12 games.
• Be its 10th win against the Big 12 €ˆNorth in its last 18 regular season games.
• Be its 12th as a nationally ranked team in the Scott Drew era.
• Improve its record to 22-4 in its last 26 games.
• Improve its record in January to 20-32 in the Drew era.
• Be €ˆBaylor's 13th win in its last 20 January games.
AFTER KANSAS
• Baylor will take a break from Big 12 play when the Bears host the UMass €ˆMinutemen from the Atlantic 10 Conference Sat., Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. CST €ˆon ESPNU. Clay Matvick (pxp) and Stephen Howard (analyst) will serve as the talent for the ESPNU broadcast.
• It will be the first meeting between the schools.
• Current Baylor Director of Basketball Operations Tim Maloney served on Travis Ford's staff at UMass for three seasons, including as associate head coach during UMass' 2008 NIT €ˆrunner-up team.
• Athletics €ˆDirector Ian McCaw was the UMass AD before taking over Baylor athletic program.
AFTER UMASS
• Baylor will look to increase its Big 12 home win streak to three games Tue., Jan. 26, when the Bears face the Kansas State €ˆWildcats in the Ferrell Center at 7 p.m. CST €ˆon FOX €ˆSports €ˆSouthwest. Greg Lucas (pxp) and Jim Haller (analyst) will serve as the talent.
• The Bears won last season's meeting in Manhattan, 83-65, behind a season-high 33 points by LaceDarius Dunn.
BAYLOR'S 2001 UPSET WIN OVER KANSAS TO AIR ON ESPN CLASSIC WEDNESDAY
• Baylor's 85-77 win in 2001 over No. 6 Kansas before a national ESPN2 audience will air Wednesday at 11 a.m. CST €ˆon ESPN €ˆClassic.
• Behind a pair of 20-point performances from Terry Black and Wendell Greenleaf, the Bears posted their first ever win over the Jayhawks, posting their 13th home win of the season.
• Baylor, which held a 25-point halftime lead, withstood a furious second-half Kansas rally to hold off the Jayhawks by eight as the Ferrell Center fans rushed the floor at the end of regulation.
OPPONENTS STRUGGLING AGAINST BAYLOR
• Opponents are averaging 62.4 points per game against the Bears, down 3.2 points per game (66.3 points per game in 2008-09) from this time last season.
• Baylor is also holding opponents to 36.0 percent from the floor (40.8 percent last season), 61.8 percent from the free throw line (66.9 percent last season) and 31.6 rebounds per game (35.2 boards last season).
PROGRAM TURNAROUND
• Baylor's 45 wins in the last two seasons (21 in 2007-08, 24 in 2008-09) under head coach Scott Drew are more than the Bears' combined win total in his first four seasons (36). The 45 wins are the largest two-season win total in program history, surpassing Baylor's combined 41 wins in 1986-87 (18) and 1987-88 (23).
• Since posting a 21-53 record (.284) in Drew's first three seasons, Baylor is 74-44 (.627) in its last 118 games.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
• Baylor's men's basketball program received a 2009 public recognition award from the NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program for having an Academic Progress Rate (APR) score which ranks among the top 10 percent within their respective sport. It marks the program's first APR honor and the third earned by a Baylor program since the award's inception. The BU men's hoops program registered an APR of 989, and was one of three Big 12 institutions, joining KU and Texas, among the 36 recognized nationally by the NCAA.
• In Scott Drew's Baylor tenure, 11 of the 12 seniors his staff recruited to Waco have left Baylor with their college degree in hand, and the 12th is in school completing course work this semester. The program's college graduates recruited by Drew's staff include: Tim Bush, Mamadou Diene, Henry Dugat, Patrick Fields, Richard Hurd, Curtis Jerrells, Ryan Pryor, Kevin Rogers, Mark Shepherd, Kevis Shipman and Delbert Simpson. The two seniors on Baylor's 2009-10 roster, Tweety Carter and Josh Lomers, are on track to graduate from Baylor in May 2010 along with Aaron Bruce. Bruce was on pace to graduate, but took a year off to play professional basketball in his native Australia before returning to school.
• Under Drew, Baylor's APR score has risen from 647 (first APR €ˆscore) to 989.
LAST TIME VS. KANSAS (MARCH 12, 2009)
• LaceDarius Dunn hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points, leading a late surge as Baylor rallied after blowing a 17-point lead to stun No. 11 Kansas 71-64 in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City.
• It was the first time in the tournament's 13-year history that Kansas lost its opening game, and the first time that a No. 9 seed had taken down the top seed.
• The three-time defending champions made up the deficit quickly and led by five before Dunn fueled a decisive 12-0 run for the Bears.
• Kansas became only the second top-seeded team to lose its opening game at the Big 12 Championship. Baylor was also responsible for the other upset, beating Iowa State in 2001. That was the Bears' only other trip to the tournament semifinals.
• Sherron Collins scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half to lead the Jayhawks, but he airballed a potential tying 3-pointer with 26 seconds left. Marcus Morris and Tyshaun Taylor added 12 points apiece for Kansas.
LAST TIME AT KANSAS (FEB. 9, 2008)
• No. 4 Kansas used a 17-6 spurt in the second half to pull away from stubborn Baylor en route to a 100-90 victory at Allen Fieldhouse.
• The Bears led by as many as seven points in the first half as Curtis Jerrells and LaceDarius Dunn hit 3-pointer after 3-pointer to silence the typically loud sellout crowd.
• When Dunn connected for a rare four-point play about 7 minutes into the second half, the game was tied 50-50. But then Mario Chalmers, taking a long pass from Darnell Jackson, dropped in a short jumper and Sherron Collins followed with a three-point play to ignite the take-charge spurt that assured Kansas of its 11th victory in its last 12 meetings with Baylor.
• Baylor had 12 3-pointers, including five by Dunn and four by Jerrells, who totaled 30 points.
• Despite allowing 100 points, Baylor held Kansas without a 3-pointer (0-for-9), for the first time since 2000.
• Baylor's 90 points were the most on the season by any Kansas opponent and the second half was the highest-scoring half of the season for either team.
• The Jayhawks did not have a single rebound the first few minutes while the Bears had seven and seized a 10-4 lead.
• Kansas clipped the lead down to one point a few minutes later before Jerrells and Dunn hit back-to-back 3-pointers to boost the lead to 20-13 - the biggest deficit Kansas had faced in any home game this season.
THE LAST TIME BAYLOR VISITED THE SUNFLOWER STATE
• Baylor returns to the Sunflower State almost one year after one of its most dominating road performances of the 2008-09 season. LaceDarius Dunn tied a school record with nine 3-pointers, while scoring a season-high 33 points, to lead the Bears to their 15th win and an 83-65 win at Kansas State (Jan. 21, 2009).
• The Bears, who were ranked No. 23 in the ESPN/USA €ˆToday Coaches €ˆTop 25 Poll when they visited €ˆK-State, also got 18 points from Curtis Jerrells and 12 each from Quincy Acy and Kevin Rogers.
• For the second straight season, the Bears (14-2) visit the Sunflower State seeking their 15th season win (Baylor was 14-3 entering K-State game last season)
PREVIEWING KANSAS
• No. 3 Kansas (16-1, 2-0 Big 12) defends the nation's longest home court winning streak at 52 games when it hosts the 25th-ranked Bears Wednesday. The Jayhawks have won their last two games by an average of 19.0 points after suffering their first loss of the season Jan. 10 at Tennessee, 76-68.
• The Jayhawks are paced offensively by four players in double figures -- Sherron Collins (15.6), Xavier Henry (15.1), Marcus Morris (11.6) and Cole Aldrich (10.8).
• KU is averaging 85.2 points per game, while allowing 60.7 points for a +24.5 scoring margin. The Jayhawks have won 10 games this season by 25 or more points and eight by 30 or more. Kansas has held 13 opponents to under 40 percent shooting in 2009-10, including Texas Tech, which shot 32.8 percent from the field Jan. 16.
BATTLE OF 1 VS. 2
• Ekpe Udoh, the Big 12 Conference's leading shot-blocker with 71 rejections, will face the league's second-leading shot-blocker Wednesday in Kansas's Cole Aldrich.
• Udoh has nine more blocks than Aldrich in one less game. Udoh is averaging 4.44 blocks per game, while Aldrich is averaging 3.65.
WHEN LACE ENTERS KANSAS, HE'S IN RANGE
• LaceDarius Dunn has had tremendous success in his previous two visits to the Sunflower State. In two road games in Kansas, Dunn is averaging 28.0 points on 18-of-28 shooting (.643) and 14-of-22 from three-point range (.636).
• In Baylor's 100-90 loss at Kansas in 2008, Dunn scored 23 points, while draining five treys.
• Last season at Kansas State, Dunn tied the school single-game record with nine triples, finishing with a season-high 33 points to help lift the Bears to an 83-65 road win.
• In five career games against Kansas (20.0 points per game) and Kansas State (24.5 points per game), Dunn is averaging 21.8 points on 34-of-57 shooting (.596) and 24-of-41 (.585) from 3-point range.
