Live Scoring for Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Less than two weeks after its third tournament win this season, the 16th-ranked Baylor women's golf team closes its spring slate April 21-22 at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational.
The 32nd annual event, hosted by Ohio State, will be played on the par-72, 6,268-yard Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament will begin Saturday with 36 holes followed by the final 18 holes on Sunday. For the second consecutive tournament, Baylor is the highest-rated team in the tournament field. Hayley Davis, Chelsey Cothran and Valerie Sternebeck will anchor Baylor's lineup for the ninth time this season. Senior Jaclyn Jansen will make her eighth tournament appearance, while freshman Emma Carberry will be in the lineup for the third time.
Earlier this month, Baylor led wire-to-wire and won the BancorpSouth Rebel Intercollegiate by eight strokes, while Jansen tallied her third career tournament title. Baylor has had at least one top-10 finisher in all eight tournaments this season, including a pair of wins by Jansen, who ranks third on the team with a 73.62 scoring average in 21 rounds.
Davis leads the Lady Bears with a 72.42 scoring average, 0.54 score vs. par and six top-10 finishes. Cothran ranks second to Davis with a 73.00 average and five top-10 performances. Nearly 94 percent of Cothran's 24 rounds have counted towards the team score. Davis, Cothran and Jansen have accounted for 13 of Baylor's 15 top-10 finishes this season.
Sternebeck ranks fourth on the team with a 75.04 average in 24 rounds. Carberry, who is making her third lineup start of the spring, owns a 77.89 scoring average in nine rounds.
Following the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Ohio, Baylor will look to claim its first conference title in program history April 27-29 at the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship in Lawrence, Kan.
