THE RUNDOWN
FRANKLIN, Tenn. â '¬" Baylor women's golf climbed two spots to 11th after shooting 5-over-par 293 in Saturday's second round at the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Giovana Maymon (+4, 142) shot 1-under 71, improving six strokes from her first-round 77 to climb 28 spots into a tie for 44th place. Dylan Kim (+2) shot 2-over 74 to move into a tie for 35th place, and Laura Lonardi (+5) improved her first-round score by three strokes with a 73 and is in 49th place.
Louise Gateau-Chovelon (+6) is tied for 54th after shooting 3-over 75 for a second straight day, and Maggie Beth Byers (+7) is tied for 61st after shooting 76 on Saturday.
The Lady Bears' 36-hole total of 15-over 591 is in front of Middle Tennessee (+16), South Carolina (+17), Central Florida (+18), Michigan State (+18), Tulane (+19) and Yale (+47). Georgia (-15) leads the tournament, followed by Alabama (-14), Northwestern (-12) and a three-way tie for fourth between Auburn (-1), Virginia (-1) and LSU (-1).
HIGHLIGHTS
• Giovana Maymon is tied for seventh in the field with a par-3 scoring average of 1-under 2.90. She tied for the tournament lead by shooting 1-under 2.80 on par-3s during Saturday's round.
• Laura Lonardi is tied for 17th in par-4 scoring average at even-par 4.00. Her second-round par-4 scoring of 2-under 3.75 ranked fourth in the field.
• Louise Gateau-Chovelon is tied for 14th in the field with a 2-under 4.80 par-5 scoring average.
• Maymon tied for the fifth-most pars on Saturday with 15.
• Dylan Kim and Maymon are tied for 16th with 26 pars made over 36 holes.
• Gateau-Chovelon leads the team and is tied for 17th with six birdies over two rounds.
• Baylor tied for sixth in par-4 scoring during Saturday's round at 1-over 4.03.
• Baylor's 60 pars on Saturday ranked ninth in the 17-team field and its 11 birdies ranked 10th.
• Baylor is tied for sixth with 119 pars made over two rounds.
