BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I thought OU was outstanding and I thought we were average, at best. They had a lot to do with that. I thought we did well rebounding-wise. I was pleased with how we did there. Turnovers really, really hurt us. They had 28 points off our turnovers. They're so good in transition. You cannot give them opportunities in transition. Then from three, they made some tough ones, they made some open ones. We did not do a good enough job of contesting enough of them. They are the number one team for a reason, they have some great players. I mean, they won the game and I am disappointed we did not have a better showing for an opportunity like this, but we will get better."

On defensive adjustments...
"Well, we ran three defenses, and I am out of defenses after three."

On OU's shooting...
"Well, that's Golden State. I think schematically, we could have seen better things. That is where, as a coach, you kill yourself because you wish you would have prepared a little bit better. It's tough when you have a one or two day prep to get everything in. I thought if we could have schemed a little better, then we could have made it a little bit tougher rather than giving up so many easy ones. You have to give them credit for so many great passes which makes it even more difficult."

On momentum shift...
"Well they have more than one player, and that is a tribute to them. I think with us, a lot of it was self-inflicted. If you take out some of those turnovers, we shot 46% and 40% from the three point line, so if you get shots up, you are probably scoring or at least you are setting your defense up in transition. They are way too good to give them easy buckets."

Senior Taurean Prince

On if Oklahoma exposed Baylor's zone defenseà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I don't think they exposed the zone. We had some defensive breakdowns early and late in the game. I think their success against our defense was a failure on our part. We did a bad job of making sure that we were in the right place at the right time. That was our fault, not anyone else's."

On Oklahoma's run to regain the leadà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think they still made shots, as far as keeping themselves in the game. Isaiah Cousins kept up a good pace for them in the game. As for them coming back in the game, that was a good job by them and a bad job by us."

On the difficulty of containing Oklahoma's shootersà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"In terms of developing a strategy, it's not hard at all to contain. Like I said earlier, we just did a bad job of being where we needed to be at the right time. Ish and I broke down a couple of times and so did Al Freeman in certain situations. As players we have to know where to be and that was our fault."

Sophomore Jonathan Motley

On the disappointment of losing to the number one team in the nationà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It was very disappointing to lose, especially when there were things that we could've controlled, like our defensive game plan. And we didn't execute right. It really sucks when you have a chance to control something in the game and you don't take advantage of that."

OKLAHOMA POSTGAME QUOTES

Oklahoma Head Coach Lon Kruger

Opening Statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Anytime you go on the road and win, you feel good about that. And, of course, Baylor is leading the league and playing great. I'm proud of our guys. I thought they moved the ball well offensively. Very obviously, stepped up and made shots, which they've been doing a good job of that. I thought defensively, we fought them pretty well. Baylor has a lot of weapons, it's hard to cheat anywhere, to help significantly. The guys stepped in there and battled really well. Jordan making shots the first half, Buddy the second half, and I thought Isaiah was terrific throughout. And Ryan and Khadeem, the second half especially, stepped up there and were a little more aggressive. A good road win against a really good Baylor club."

On the team's performance with Buddy in foul trouble in the first halfà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Obviously the activity during that time was huge. We created some offensive opportunities with deflections and steals which gave us some confidence and some freedom and flow offensively. So that was a really big stretch." On if he's ever had a team shoot the ball like todayà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"They really shoot it well. They made a lot of shots earlier in the week too. The ball movement was really good ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" I didn't realize it, but we had 29 assists - that's a big number. Any time you can do that, it means you move the ball well and are making shots. The guys like to shoot ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" they spend a lot of time shooting ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" and they like passing to each other. That's a good combination."

Senior G Buddy Hield

On what it was like on the bench in foul trouble when the team had the first half runà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"That was a real important stretch. The guys stepped up and made plays. I expect that in a team like that from guys like Jordan and Isaiah. They get in the gym a lot and make a lot of big shots. Jordan was really carrying the whole team by making shots. I was happy ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" if you looked at the bench I was celebrating more than anyone. I was really happy to see him make shots in the stretch."

On if there were holes in Baylor's zone that they exploitedà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Coach does a good job of trying to pick apart these zones. We have some good plays that we run. Whatever he tells us to do, we do. He told us to run some plays and we just executed them."

Junior G Jordan Woodard

On what was the key to his performanceà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Just trying to focus and knock down shots. I felt like we just had to keep the ball moving against the zone. Ryan, Isaiah and Khadeem made some good passes and I was just trying to knock down the shots."

On how the team felt when Buddy went to the bench early with two foulsà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"He wasn't down at all ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" he told us all that we had to step up. He told me to keep shooting, told Isaiah to keep doing what he was doing, and as a team to pick it up. We knew when he came back in the second half we all would be clicking together."
