THE RUNDOWN
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor women's golf is tied for fifth place at 19-over-par 587 after two rounds at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club. BU shot 12-over 296 in Saturday's second round and sits 14 strokes back of the lead entering the final round.
Baylor is led by junior Amy Lee, who shot a team-best 1-over 72 on Saturday and is tied for sixth place in the 90-player field at 1-over 143 for the tournament. Redshirt sophomore Dylan Kim shot 3-over 74 in the second round and is tied for 22nd place at 5-over 147. Senior Maggie Beth Byers is tied for 31st place at 6-over 148 following a second round 4-over 75. Sophomore Maria Vesga is tied for 38th place at 7-over 149 and freshman Fiona Liddell is tied for 77th place at 19-over 161.
BU was 4-over at the turn on Saturday, with Vesga sitting at even-par, Kim and Byers at 1-over and Lee at 2-over. Lee shot 1-under on the back-nine, but the rest of the team combined to shoot 9-over.
All four teams in front of No. 19 Baylor (+19) are ranked higher in the latest GolfStat rankings. BU trails No. 18 Duke (+5), No. 5 Alabama (+5), No. 10 Arizona State (+8) and No. 14 South Carolina (+12). The Lady Bears are tied with No. 8 Georgia (+19) and ahead of No. 6 Furman (+24), No. 32 Tennessee (+26), No. 34 North Carolina (+28), Vanderbilt (+28), No. 16 Oklahoma State (+30), No. 12 Arkansas (+31), No. 40 Auburn (+32), No. 11 Wake Forest (+33), LSU (+37), Mississippi State (+48) and Virginia (+58).

- Baylor ranks second in the 17-team field with a 4-under 4.87 par-5 scoring average.
- BU is tied for seventh in par-3 scoring at 6-over 3.15 and tied for ninth in par-4 scoring at 36-over 4.33.
- Baylor's 22 birdies in the tournament are tied for sixth-most.
- Dylan Kim and Maggie Beth Byers are tied for second in the 90-player field in par-5 scoring average at 3-under 4.50. Amy Lee is tied for ninth at 2-under 4.67.
- Lee is tied for fifth in par-3 scoring at 1-under 2.88, while Kim is tied for 11th at even-par 3.00.
- Byers has made nine birdies, tied for second-most in the field.
- Maria Vesga and Kim are tied for 10th with 25 pars made over 36 holes.
- Byers made birdie on the 374-yard, par-4 14th hole, which has played as the toughest hole in both rounds at a combined +0.52. Hers was one of only 12 birdies on the hole in 180 rounds played during the tournament.
