Men’s Tennis Opens Qualifying Draw in Tulsa

Bendeck, Lah, Little advance to next qualifying rounds Monday afternoon
TULSA, Okla. – Baylor men's tennis had three Bears advance on day three of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championship Monday at the Case Tennis Center.
In singles action, senior Will Little recorded a 6-3, 6-3 victory over USC's Logan Smith while sophomore Sven Lah took a 6-4, 6-2 win over Cal's Jacob Brumm.
Two other Bears took losses as 59th-ranked Bjoern Petersen fell 6-3, 6-1 to Loyola Marymount's Lukas Moenter and No. 79 Matias Soto dropped a 6-3, 7-6(5) match to Northern Arizona's Tim Handel.
In doubles play, Jimmy Bendeck and Sven Lah took down New Mexico's Ricky Hernandez Tong and Dominic West in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Then, the Baylor duo stormed back for the 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(8) victory over Tennessee's Timo Stodder and Preston Touliatos, ranked No. 31 in the country.
Meanwhile, Bjoern Petersen and Matias Soto dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision to Florida's McClain Kessler and Sam Riffice.
The qualifying draw continues tomorrow with all five Bears in action.
