Bendeck, Lah, Little advance to main draw after Tuesday victories
TULSA, Okla. – Baylor men's tennis had one singles player and one doubles tandem advance to the main draw on day four of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championship Tuesday at the Case Tennis Center.
In singles action, senior Will Little went 2-0 on the day as he took a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 win over No. 64 Parker Wynn of Texas Tech in the second round. Then, he stormed back for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Cal's Paul Barretto for the final spot in the singles main draw.
Sven Lah went 1-1 in singles action after he opened the day with a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 win over Oklahoma State's Matej Vocel then closed out his singles run with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to No. 56 Arlington's Nuez Delgado of UT Arlington in the round of 32.
In doubles play, Jimmy Bendeck and Lah dominated Oklahoma State's Artur Dubinski and Maxim Tybar, 6-4, 6-3, and will advance to the main doubles draw.
Meanwhile, Matias Soto clinched a consolation win over No. 76 Enzo Wallart of Kentucky in three sets, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(2). Bjoern Petersen withdrew from his match prior to first serve.
The main draw opens Thursday with four Bears in action.
