Bears look for 3-0 season start for fifth time in six seasons

WACO, Texas -- Coming off dominant 7-0 victories in the season opener, the 11th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will continue action against Penn Monday at 11 a.m. CT at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.

Monday will be the second all-time meeting against the two programs with the Bears winning the only previous match in 4-0 fashion on Feb. 18, 2006. A win would push the Bears to a 3-0 start for the fifth time in six seasons and give BU its 19th home win in 20 matches dating back to 2017.

In its season-opening doubleheader, four Bears collected two singles wins in 105th-ranked Constantin Frantzen, Jimmy Bendeck, Sven Lah and Matias Soto while Soto and Frantzen are 2-0 this season in doubles action. The Bears have yet to drop a match this season, going 2-0 in doubles points and 12-0 in singles matches.
