Baylor collects 10th win of the season with victory over the Golden Hurricane
THE RUNDOWN
TULSA, Okla. – No. 11 Baylor men's tennis (10-2) collected a 5-2 road win over Tulsa Saturday night at Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
The Bears quickly got out in front and improved to 9-3 in the doubles point. First, Will Little and Matias Soto paired up for a 6-1 victory over Kody Pearson and Daniel Siddall at the No. 2 spot. Then, the second-ranked duo of Jimmy Bendeck and Sven Lah clinched a 6-1 win over Majed Kilani and Jarod Hing at the No. 1 spot for the 1-0 Baylor lead.
Then, Baylor kept the momentum with three quick singles victories. Adrian Boitan collected a 6-1, 6-0 against Kody Pearson at the No. 4 spot, followed by No. 117 Sven Lah's 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Jarod Hing on court three.
Matias Soto clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Joshua Goodger at the No. 2 spot.
Electing to play the rest of the matches out, Kyrylo Tsygura recorded a 6-1, 7-6(5) win over Daniel Siddall on court six for the 5-0 lead.
Tulsa collected its first win of the match after Jimmy Bendeck dropped a 7-6(7), 6-3 decision to Stefan Hampe at the No. 5 spot, and then No. 34 Will Little's 6-3, 6-7(1), 1-0(8) loss to No. 84 Majed Kilani on court one closed out the match.
