OPELIKA, Ala. – Baylor women's golf is in eighth place after shooting 10-over-par 298 in Sunday's second round of the Evans Derby Experience. BU tied for the sixth-best round of the day and climbed one spot on the leaderboard at 18-over 594 entering Monday's final round.
No. 39 Baylor (+18) leads six top-45 ranked teams, including No. 9 South Carolina (+22), No. 45 Mississippi State (+22), No. 32 Clemson (+25), No. 41 Ole Miss (+25), No. 36 Louisville (+32) and No. 18 Alabama (+38). BU is just four shots back of the top-five and trails No. 2 Texas (+3), No. 3 Duke (+6), No. 8 Arkansas (+8), No. 11 Florida State (+9), No. 14 Kent State (+14), No. 7 Florida (+16) and No. 13 Auburn (+17).
Baylor's best round of the day came from freshman Emma Bradley, who carded a 1-over 73 to climb into a tie for 52nd place at 9-over 153. Maria Vesga shot 2-over 74 to move into a tie for 19th place at 3-over 147, and Erica Chiang posted 3-over 75 to climb into a tie for 42nd place at 7-over 151.
Gurleen Kaur carded the Bears' final counting score at 4-over 76 to move into a tie for eighth place at even-par 144, and she enters the final round two shots back of the co-leaders and one shot back of five players tied for third place. Diane Baillieux shot 8-over 80 to tie for 76th place at 15-over 159, while Amelia McKee, who is competing as an individual, shot 7-over 79 and is tied for 60th place at 10-over 154.
HIGHLIGHTS
13 – Vesga strung together 13 consecutive pars after posting a bogey on her third hole, No. 12. She ended the streak with a birdie on her 17th hole, No. 8, to get back to even-par on the day.

- Vesga ranks third in the tournament with 28 pars across 36 holes, while Baillieux is tied for 15th with 25 pars.
