Bears riding seven-match winning streak, 28-match streak at home
WACO, Texas – No. 15 Baylor men's tennis (2-0) will host SMU for a pair of matches Monday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT.
The Bears are riding a seven-match winning streak and have swept both ends of each of their last 37 doubleheaders, dating back to March 7, 1998.
Baylor has not lost a home match since April 22, 2018, marking a 28-match winning streak in Waco.
SMU comes to Waco with a 2-1 record in 2021. The Mustangs hold the all-time series advantage 28-22, though Baylor has won each of the last 19 matches dating back to 2002.
Interim head coach Michael Woodson won his first two career matches in his head coaching debut on Friday as BU defeated Lamar 7-0 and ACU 6-1.
Twelve different Bears competed as Woodson rolled out two entirely different singles lineups and did not repeat a doubles pairing in the doubleheader. Constantin Frantzen and Matias Soto led the Bears with three victories each, earning two wins in doubles (including one together) and one in singles play.
Live results and a live video stream for the matches will be available at BaylorBears.com.
