Bears looking to bounce back following last week’s loss to No. 4 OSU
WACO, Texas – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (1-1) welcomes No. 5 Texas A&M (1-0) to Waco for a noon meet at the Willis Family Equestrian Center on Friday.
The Bears are looking to bounce back following last week's narrow 10-9 loss to No. 4 Oklahoma State. Juniors Jenna Meimerstorf (Reining) and Dominika Silvestri (Flat) picked up Most Outstanding Performer honors last time out.
Five Bears boast an undefeated 2-0 mark in their respective events so far this season, including senior Caroline Fuller in both Fences and Flat, junior Gabrielle Marty (Horsemanship), sophomore Madison Mitchell (Fences), freshman Nadalee Vasquez (Horsemanship) and Meimerstorf.
Fifth-year head coach Casie Maxwell leads BU in search of snapping a five-meet losing streak to the Aggies, as A&M holds a 15-7 advantage in the all-time series. Baylor's last win over the Aggies came on Feb. 7, 2015, in Waco.
Texas A&M is coming off a season-opening win at South Dakota State, 11-8, nearly three weeks ago on Sept. 25. The Aggies edged the Bears in last year's only meeting on a raw-score tiebreaker, 1579.75-1568.75, after points were tied at 9-9.
Live scoring for Friday's meet will be available on BaylorBears.com.
