Bears round out fall slate by welcoming Bulldogs to Waco
WACO, Texas – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (1-4, 1-1) hosts Fresno State (0-4, 0-2) on Friday at 12 p.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center to round out its fall schedule.
The Bears are coming off a 13-6 loss at No. 1 SMU on Nov. 4 after previously beating the former No. 1 TCU, 12-7, at home on Oct. 21. Senior Jumping Seat rider Dominika Silvestri led the Bears with a pair of wins against the Mustangs and freshman Lauren Reid was named the Most Outstanding Performer in Fences.
In Reining, senior Madaline Callaway tied her season-high with a 73 at SMU. She currently owns BU's top-two scores in the event this season. Callaway is one of three different Bears with three or more wins in a single event this year, as Silvestri (3 in Fences, 4 in Flat) and Nadalee Vasquez (3 in Horsemanship) have also led their respective events.
Baylor leads the all-time series with Fresno State, 15-6, and has won three of the last four meetings. Last season, BU won two of the three matchups including an 11-7 bout in Waco and a 12-6 contest in the consolation meet of the Big 12 Championship.
The Bulldogs have yet to collect a victory in 2022-23, having lost to No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 5 Auburn, No. 2 TCU and No. 6 Oklahoma State. FS and TAMU are in action on Thursday before the Bulldogs travel to Waco.

Following the meet, Baylor will take a two-month hiatus before returning to the competition arena on Jan. 27 to start the spring season. BU hosts four meets at home in the spring, including Big 12 action against Oklahoma State on Feb. 18.
