Bears dominated Horned Frogs, 14-6, earlier this season
WACO, Texas – No. 4 Baylor equestrian (4-4, 2-2) is set to host No. 8 TCU (6-5, 0-3) at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.
The Bears are looking to bounce back following last week's 11-8 loss at No. 1 Oklahoma State and snap a two-meet losing skid.
BU holds a 24-8 advantage in the all-time series with TCU, including a 14-6 win in November's prior meeting. Baylor was led by its Reining squad, which collected a 5-0 sweep over the Horned Frogs as part of the victory in Fort Worth.
Three Bears collected Most Outstanding Performer honors, including Marley Mainwaring's first-career MOP with a 75.5 in Horsemanship. Madaline Callaway (Reining, 72.5) and Caroline Fuller (Fences, 80) also garnered the accolade.
Baylor has won 17 of its 32 individual events this season, with Reining riding a three-meet winning streak. The BU Reiners remain unbeaten in Big 12 action so far in 2021-22.
Seventeen different Bears have recorded points this year, including Callaway (Reining), Emma Fletcher (Flat), Jenna Meimerstorf (Reining), Andie Pratt (Reining) and Dominika Silvestri (Flat), who each boast undefeated marks in Big 12 play headed into Saturday.
TCU comes to Waco following its raw-score tiebreaker win against No. 6 SMU on Thursday.
