Bears looking to end the fall season strong
WACO, Texas – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (1-4) finishes its fall season in Delaware with back-to-back meets Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18, against Delaware State (1-0) and No. 10 UT Martin (1-5).
The Bears will saddle up for an 8 a.m. matchup against the Hornets on Friday followed by a 12:30 p.m. faceoff against UTM on Saturday.
BU returns to action after a tough 14-6 loss to No. 1 TCU last Friday as Dominika Silvestri collected her first Flat point of the season and Maddie Vorhies (Fences) picked up her first Most Outstanding Performer nod of the season. Baylor Fences claimed its third consecutive victory. The Bears found some momentum in the Western arena as Sadie Peters (Reining) scratched her first-career point on the board.
Baylor holds an 11-1 advantage over Delaware State in the all-time series. The two last faced off in 2019 as the Bears defeated the Hornets 12-3. This weekend marks BU's first trip to the Diamond State in five years.
BU leads UT Martin 9-0 in the all-time series. Their last matchup came last season as the Bears cruised to a 15-2 victory on Jan. 27, 2023.
Following the meets, the Bears will take a break before hosting No. 5 Georgia (3-3) on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center
