Bears struggle in the Western arena, but find steam in Jumping Seat
THE RUNDOWN
FELTON, Del. – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (1-5) fell short against Delaware State (2-0), 10-7, at the Dovington Training Center Friday afternoon.
The Bears needed a comeback early after the Hornets took Reining 3-1. Riley Cachat (72.5) scratched Baylor's first point on the board. Cachat's ride on Wally marks a career high.
Despite strong rides from Lauren Jorgensen (77) and Dominika Silvestri (80), BU dropped Flat 3-2. Silvestri earned her first Flat Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors of the season.
Gianna Pozzi (73) picked up BU's sole Horsemanship point.
The Bears claimed Fences, 3-2. Madison Mitchell (80), Lauren Reid (83) and Silvestri (76) added to the tally. Reid picked up her first MOP nod of the season with her ride aboard Tillie. This event win marked BU's fourth consecutive Fences win.
