Bears hit the road for first time this season
WACO, Texas – The Baylor acrobatics & tumbling team travels to Angola, Ind., to face Trine on Saturday, with meet time set for 12 p.m. CT.
Â
The meet will take place in the Thunder's MTI Center, a first for the program as they normally compete in Hershey Hall.
Â
Saturday's meet serves as Trine's season and home opener. It will also be the first meeting between the Thunder and Bears.
Â
Trine is in its third season, all three with 2019 Baylor alumna Kati Horstmann at the helm of the program. In the 2022 season, the Thunder went 3-6 and finished third at the NCATA Division III Invitational. Trine finished the 2022 season with a 3-6 overall record, but nine of the program's best scores came in during the year, with the final regular-season competition setting a new benchmark of 242.175, a full eight points over the second-best.
BU is coming off a nearly 30-point win over West Liberty to travel to Indiana. The Bears didn't drop a single event or heat to the Hilltoppers en route to a season-opening win.Â
Â
Fans can expect the Bears to continue competing elements that are new to the NCATA as they did in 2022, pulling inspiration from acrobatic gymnastics and other disciplines.
Â
A full recap and final results can be found on BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of the meet.
Â
The meet at Trine will be available to watch via the Thunder's live stream link here.
