
XC Wraps Regular Season with Personal Best Times

Women finish 18th, Men finish 29th at Arturo Barrios Invite
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor cross country wrapped its final regular season meet in style on Friday morning with 13 Bears leaving the Watts Cross Country Course with new personal best times in their respective races.
Overall, the Baylor women earned 18th place out of the stacked 41-team field in the 6k. On the men's side, Baylor finished 29th out of 38 teams in the 8k competition.
THE RUNDOWN
The Baylor men and women found success at the Watts Cross Country Course with six out of top seven finishers for women and seven out of top eight finishers for men all earning new personal best times.
Becoming a familiar pattern, freshman Ruth Kimeli earned her third consecutive top-15 finish at the Arturo Barrios Invite, finishing in 11th place with a personal-best time in the 6k at 19:37.8.
Following behind Kimeli was freshman duo Ella Perry with a 21:02.4 time in 97th place. Perry has been Baylor's second-best finisher in every meet she's competed in this year. Senior Jordan Ledington was No. 3 for Baylor at 21:37.7. No. 4 Rosanna Pugh came in at 21:49.1 and senior Jackie Addy rounded out scoring with a 21:52.8 clip. Alaina Zamorano and Clara Diepenbrock were the next two finishers at 195th and 199th place.
On the men's side, the duo of Nick Hruskoci and Jack Sterrett continues to pace Baylor. Hruskoci claimed the No. 1 spot for BU for his third straight race in 62nd place at 23:50.2 in the 8k competition. Sterrett followed behind at 136th place with a 24:27.1 time. Senior Devin Duran came in at No. 3 with a 24:43.8 pace. At No. 4 was Nolan Keenan at 24:58.1. Rounding out scoring was Aiden Ramshaw with a 25:37.3 time.

Bears now return home to prepare to open the postseason and host the Big 12 Championship at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco on Nov. 1. This will be the first time since 2019 and fourth time in program history Baylor has played host for the Big 12 Championship.
