BU enters winners of five-straight against the Bearcats
WACO, Texas – No. 20 Baylor volleyball returns to the Ferrell Center on Friday night for its annual "Dig Pink" match, hosting Cincinnati at 7 p.m. CT.
The Bears (10-6, 5-3 Big 12) enter the matchup looking to build on their momentum after a hard-fought 3-1 win over Kansas State on Wednesday night, improving to 6-1 at home this season. It will be a quick turnaround for the Bears, but that is nothing new for head coach Ryan McGuyre and his team.
"Hopefully we did all of our preparations on the front end," he said. "I think our team is still pretty disciplined at taking care of themselves, sleeping well and eating well. We have a great support care team here as well. There's a little bit more visualization happening in the film with the tight turnaround, and preparing yourself for the next match."
Baylor has won five straight matches against Cincinnati, including all four meetings since the Bearcats joined the Big 12. The Bears will look to extend that streak and keep pace near the top of the conference standings, where Arizona State currently leads with a 5-0 record.
In Wednesday's victory, senior middle blocker Manuela Bibinbe delivered a career performance, recording a career-best 21 kills, the most by a Bear in a four-set match since Elise McGhee tallied 21 against Houston in 2023. Freshman libero Morgan Madison also shined defensively with 20 digs, the most by a Baylor player in a four-set match since Shanel Bramschreiber had 20 against Texas State in April of 2021. Madison also sits on the precipice of the freshman record for digs at Baylor, needing just six to tie the mark of 233, set by Hannah Lockin Sedwick.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink, and the first 100 fans through the doors will receive free rally towels. Lincoln Rose and Faith Lynch will be on the call for ESPN+, while stats are available all season long at Baylorbears.com/stats.
