WBB tips off from the Banks of the Brazos for the first time in the 2025-26 campaign at 4 p.m. CT
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's basketball unofficially opens the season Saturday against the Lady Buffaloes from West Texas A&M at 4 p.m. in the Paul and Alejandra Foster Pavilion.
The game will not be streamed live, but the Baylor Sports Media Network will provide play-by-play online via Baylor All Access and the Baylor Athletics YouTube Page with Derek Smith and Lori Fogleman on the call.
Seats inside Foster Pavilion, except for the Courtside, Loft and Sideline Club premium areas, will be general admission on a first come, first served basis. Premium season ticket holders will have reserved tickets in their accounts, while non-premium season ticket holders will have general admission tickets. Student ticketing will operate as normal.
The Bears are ranked in the AP preseason poll for the 21st consecutive season, entering the 2025-26 campaign at No. 16 and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. AP voters have BU second among Big 12 programs, with Iowa State at No. 14 and TCU close behind at No. 17.
The Big 12 coaches picked the Bears to finish third in the conference standings with two first place votes while unanimously selecting Darianna Littlepage-Buggs to the preseason All-Big 12 team. Bella Fontleroy also represents the green and gold on the preseason squad.
Head coach Nicki Collen welcomes a roster full of fresh faces, returning six of last season's 13 players. Of the six newcomers, five arrive as transfers: Taliah Scott from Auburn, Kiersten Johnson from Oklahoma, Ella Brow from SMU, Yuting Deng from Auburn and Kiera Pemberton from North Dakota. The lone true freshman is Marcayla Johnson.
Collen also strengthened her coaching staff with the addition of Johnnie Harris as associate head coach following her head coaching stint at Auburn. Jaelyn Richard Harris from Omaha and Tez Dumars from Kansas State both join as assistant coaches.
The Bears will appear 10 times during the 2025-26 regular season on national television, an increase from the previously announced nine after the Nov. 14 game at UNLV was added to the CBS Sports Network slate as part of the Mountain West selections.
The 2025-26 season officially tips off at Adidas Arena in Paris, France, where the Bears face No. 7 Duke at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3. The matchup will be the first televised game of the season and the first ranked-versus-ranked contest in the NCAA.
Baylor women's basketball is presented by Central National Bank, a family-owned, independent bank headquartered in Waco, Texas, that provides uniquely personal service while simultaneously embracing the latest developments in banking technology.
