WACO, Texas – Baylor men's basketball team (5-1) returns back home to Foster Pavilion for a matchup against Sacramento State. The Bears kickoff their first of five home games in the month of December on Tuesday for their Holiday Hoops game.
GAME NOTES
• Baylor plays at home to face off against Sacramento State for the first time in program history.
• BU returns from the Players Era Tournament held in Las Vegas, where the Bears went 2-1 on the week.
• The Bears averaged 84.3 ppg in Vegas with a +0.7 scoring margin against opponents. Overall, BU shot a .435 FG-percentage at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in its three games.
• Additionally, BU averaged 43.0 rebounds a game, outrebounding opponents by a dominant 12.7 on the glass.
• Of the total 129 boards, 58 were offensive, averaging 19.3 offensive rebounds a game in Vegas.
• Overall, Baylor ranks fourth in the Big 12 in offensive rebounds per game (14.33) and 38th in the nation.
• Cameron Carr is eighth in the nation and second in the Big 12 in points per game (22.7).
• Carr holds a .552 three-point percentage which leads the Big 12 and ranks sixth in the nation.
• Carr has started the season putting up a minimum of 16 points in all six games this season. Carr is the first Bear since Tevis Stukes (1999-2000) to begin the season recording at least 16 points in the first six games.
• The Baylor offense has been sharing the wealth with at least four Bears scoring in double figures in all six games.
• BU is ranked 14th in the nation according to KenPom in offense effenciency.
• Baylor is 14-1 all-time against Big Sky teams, its only loss coming from Weber State in 1994.
• Baylor is 97-4 in its last 100 non-conference home games dating back to Nov. 12, 2013.
• BU's last loss at home to a non-conference team was 12/18/18 against Stephen F. Austin, 59-58.
• Baylor is 168-16 in non-conference home games in the Drew era, including 148-8 since 2007-08.
• Baylor is 105-12 in home games against unranked opponents (including Big 12 play) since 2016.
• BU joins Sacramento State as one of nine teams in the nation with zero returning minutes from last year's roster. The Hornets have zero returning players from 2024-25.
• This the 17th time in the Scott Drew era that the Bears have started a season with only one loss through its first six games.
• Scott Drew will mark off team 177 that he's faced off against in his career with adding the Hornets to the list. Drew is 11 wins away from reaching 500 career wins (489-271).
