Game notes:
• Baylor continues working its way through a five-game homestand, hosting Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday evening at Foster Pavilion.
• It is the first matchup against the Lady Lions in the Nicki Collen era, with the last tilt playing out 71 points in favor of the green and gold in 2016.
• Baylor is ranked 14th in the AP Poll and 15th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after their 7-1 start to the season.
• The Bears hold three league-leading statistical categories through games on Dec. 1: team blocks per game (7.9); Kiersten Johnson's blocks (22) and blocks per game (2.75); Darianna Littlepage-Buggs' double-doubles (3), rebounds (84), defensive rebounds per game (7.9) and rebounds per game (10.5); Taliah Scott's free throws (61) and minutes per game (34.82). Scott's 61 free throws are also the leading tally across Division I.
• Taliah Scott has made an immediate impact for the Bears, scoring 190 points in eight games, including 32 against No. 19 Iowa.
• Scott scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Bears over the Blue Devils, going 3-of-6 from the floor in that frame while adding six clutch free throws.
• Scott earned Big 12 Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week honors for her performances to start the year and was named to the league's Starting Five after scoring 54 points in two WBCA Showcase games in Orlando.
• The Auburn transfer opened the season with a nation-leading streak of seven consecutive 20-point games. She also became just the third player since 2000 to score 20 or more points in each of at least her first seven games on a new roster, joining Buffalo's Dyaisha Fair (seven in 2019–20) and Idaho's Emily Faurholt (10 in 2003–04).
• Scott is tied with Iowa State's Audi Crooks for most 20-point games in the nation.
• Hosting Grambling State, Baylor put up the second-fewest fouls in its five years under Collen, committing just seven in the 76-35 win at Foster Pavilion.
• Darianna Littlepage-Buggs had her Big 12-best third double-double (10 pts, 16 reb), while Taliah Scott and Bella Fontleroy each found double-digit points. Jana Van Gytenbeek also recorded a game-high seven assists.
• In the first of five consecutive home games, Baylor downed Louisiana Tech by 29 points, 75-46.
• It marked the 18th time in the Nicki Collen era that the Bears held their opponents below a 30% look from the field (29.0%)
• Scott led the Baylor scoring effort, as she's done for the seventh time, with 21 points and a team-leading four steals. Yuting Deng and Marcayla Johnson also had double-digit scoring nights, each with 11.
