HILTON HEAD, S.C.— Closing with its best round of the week on Wednesday, the 28
th-ranked Baylor women's golf team beat 14
th-ranked Mississippi State by eight shots for the day with an 18-over-par 302 and finished 15
th in the loaded field at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at 58-over 911.
Senior
BaiMai Seema and Oakland University transfer
Bridget Boczar led the way for the Bears in the final round, both shooting 3-over 74.
Fifth-ranked South Carolina and No. 22 finished tied atop the tournament leaderboard at 11-over 864, four shots ahead of second-ranked Arkansas in a loaded field that included six of the top 10 teams in the country. Sharing medalist honors at 1-under 212 were Arkansas' Kendall Todd and South Carolina's Louise Rydqvist.
THE RUNDOWN
Seema tied for 41
st, shooting 11-over 224 for the tournament. The senior started the day out with a birdie on No. 11, followed by a pair of bogeys on Nos. 15 and 16. Landing a string of bogeys, her second nine was highlighted by a birdie on No. 8.
Boczar also started her round with a birdie on the par-4 11
th, sandwiched between bogeys at Nos. 10 and 12. In a seven-hole stretch on her second nine, the junior carded only one par, with birdies at Nos. 2 and 4. The junior carded 15-over 228 for the week to tie for 61st place for the tournament.
Starting the day out with birdie on No. 10,
Sera Hasegawa landed a pair of bogeys on Nos. 14 and 15. The senior reeled it back in for a birdie on No. 16, shooting 5-over 76 for the day. Hasegawa tied Boczar for 61st place at 15-over 228.
Freshman
Malena Castro struggled in her final round on Wednesday, recording consecutive bogeys on Nos. 7, 8 and 9 to finish the day at 8-over 79. Tying for 72nd place, Castro carded 17-over 231 for the week.
Junior
Silje Ohma's round of 8-over 79 was highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole, where the other four Baylor golfers were a combined 4-over. Falling six spots on the day, she tied for 79
th at 21-over 234.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Bridget Boczar tied for 3rd in par-3 scoring average at 2.75 (-3).
- Currently ranked 28th, the Bears finished ahead of 14th-ranked Mississippi State and beat the Bulldogs by eight shots on the day.

The Bears will travel to the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate, March 24-25, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
