
T&F Suits Up for Final Regular Season Meet at Alumni Muster

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor track & field is set to put the final touches on its performance list as Championship Season nears, competing in its final regular season meet at the Alumni Muster on Saturday, May 3, at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station.
The Bears will face off teams across the Lone Star State and the south such as host school Texas A&M, HCU, Incarnate Ward, Lamar, Louisville, McNeese State, Missouri, North Texas, Rice, SFA, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Sam Houston, UT Rio Grande Valley and UTSA.
STILL ON THE CLIMB
The women track & field team have proved themselves to be one of the top competitors in the nation as the Baylor women have ranked at No. 6 for the third consecutive week. The ladies additionally hold four position groups in the top five, being led by Alexis Brown and Janae De Gannes at No. 1 in the long jump. Additionally, the Baylor women rank No. 3 in pole vault, No. 4 in the 100m and No. 5 in the 400m hurdles.
After a successful meet at the Knights Invite in Orlando, the Baylor men jumped 20 spots in the rankings to No. 26. The men rank at No. 8 in the 400m event.
BEARS ON TOP IN ORLANDO
T&F wrapped its second-to-last regular season meet in Orlando at the UCF Knights Invite with 15 top-10 finishes, 10 of those being in the top-five. The Bears took five event titles, all being running events in Alexis Brown (100m), Nathaniel Ezekiel (400m), Jasmine Gryne (400mH), Demario Prince (110mH) and Calisha Taylor (400m).
On the final day of competition on Saturday, BU took four titles in all an hour span of each other.
BIG NATE AS THE BIG 12 ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Nathaniel Ezekiel earned his second Big 12 Athlete of the Week honor of the season after his impressive performance in the 400m in Orlando. Ezekiel ran the No. 2 time in the nation at 44.75, cracking inside Baylor's historic Quarter Mile U top-10 outdoor program marks at tied for ninth. This is the fastest mark in the 400m posted by a Bear since Wil London in 2017.
The senior's mark ranks first in the Big 12, second in the NCAA and 14th in the World for the 2025 season.
CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON NEARS
The Bears near the postseason as the Big 12 Outdoor Championships is set to take place in Lawrence, Kansas from May 15-17. For advancing in the NCAAs, the top 48 athletes in each individual event (per gender, per region) qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary, which will be held in College Station from May 28-31. Following, the top 12 finishers per event in each region qualify for the NCAA Championships in June in Eugene, Oregon.
