Box Score BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor soccer started the 2025 season with a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening against Texas A&M at Ellis Field.
The Bears (0-0-1) came out of the break with a strong attack after a five-shot deficit to the Aggies (0-0-1) in the first half to knot up the match with 10 minutes left to play.

Azul Alvarez made four stops in her 25
th career game, only allowing the single goal in the fourth minute.
THE RUNDOWN
The Aggies applied pressure early, netting the first goal off their first shot, as Leah Diaz connected off assists from Kaylee Noble and Mia Scranton in the fourth minute. After a continued attack from Texas A&M, the Bears put their first shot on goal in the 15
th minute from Oliva Hess.
Hannah Augustyn got a shot off the Bears' first corner kick of the season, but the attempt was off target as the Aggies led BU 11-6 in first-half shots.
Baylor had a pair of shots on goal in just over 10 minutes into the second half, with
Hannah Augustyn and
Kai Hayes forcing two saves from TAMU's keeper, Sydney Fuller.

Lauren Omholt connected with the back of the net off a header to tie up the match in BU's first goal of the season. Houston transfer
Aryanna Jimison was credited with her seventh career assist in Game No. 1 as a Bear.
Coming up big late in the game, the Baylor defense got a pair of stops to secure the draw to open the season on the road.
