Bears look to regain momentum after two consecutive top-10 losses

URBANA-Champaign, Ill. – No. 8 Baylor men's tennis returns to action against the No. 32 Illinois Fighting Illini Friday night at 5 p.m. CT at the Atkins Tennis Center.

No. 8 Baylor (7-4) enters the matchup looking to get one back after dropping against No. 3 Wake Forest on Sunday. However, the Bears are confident going into this match and their spirit is not diminished.

No. 32 Illinois (6-3) is on a two-game streak coming off a win over UNC this last Sunday.

The Fighting Illini hold one ranked singles player based on ITA's latest rankings, with this being Kenta Miyoshi at No. 22. In doubles, a sole duo holds a ranking in the top 50 with Kenta Miyoshi and Adam Jilly coming in at No.34.

Baylor leads in the all-time record, 9-5, and looks to continue that lead. The Bears have only ever lost one time while on the road against Illinois and their last meetup concluded with the Bears winning at home 4-1.
