Baylor looks to keep their seven-match win streak
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 11 Baylor men's tennis is on the road again after winning all five of its previous home matches. The Bears will face No. 70 Texas Tech at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock on Thursday, April 9th, at 5:00 p.m. CT.
Baylor (19-7, 5-1) is facing Tech following its doubleheader against Midwestern State and BYU this past week, both resulting in 4-0 decisions for the Bears. Currently on a seven-match win streak, BU is looking to keep up this momentum through the end of the regular season.
BU trails Arizona by a game and sits in a tie with TCU for second place in Big 12 standings. UofA only has No. 15 UCF and Texas Tech remaining on the schedule, while TCU travels to Oklahoma State before facing Baylor on Sunday.
The Red Raiders (12-10, 2-5) are hosting Baylor after their loss against No. 10 Arizona at home. With a 10-3 home record, Tech will have to rely on its No. 76 doubles team, Blake Hilsen and Eyal Shumilov to stay competitive against the Bears.
The Bears still boast their strong roster in singles, with Devin Badenhorst remaining in the top-10 for singles at No. 7. Badenhorst is joined by No. 35 Zsombor Velcz and No. 46 Connor Van Schalkwyk.
