Ludwig joined the Baylor staff after spending the previous three years as an assistant coach at San Diego State from 2016 through 2018. Prior to joining the SDSU program, she gained four years of experience as a head coach at Central Connecticut State from 2012 through 2015.
In her six seasons, Ludwig has helped the team to 13 wins, including 11 in the past three seasons, which is the best stretch in program history. The former Symetra Tour player has coached an individual champion in all six seasons on staff, including multiple individual medalists in two of the last three seasons. She has helped Elodie Chapelet and Gurleen Kaur garner a combined six All-America honors in her time with the Bears. Kaur became the first player in program history to be named an All-American in four seasons. Under Ludwig’s guidance, Six BU players made nine All-Big 12 Teams, and eight different players made the All-Big 12 Tournament Team.
in 2023-24, Ludwig helped the Bears battle to reach a fourth-straight NCAA Championship. Following a bit of a slow spring the Bears were ranked No. 63 on February 28th, but climbed 29 spots in a two-month span to reach No. 34 entering the NCAA Championship. A No. 7 seed in the NCAA Las Vegas Regional, The Bears beat the field average by over 11 shots in the final round to secure a third-place finish and become one of eight teams to make six of the last seven NCAA Championships'.
Baylor made its fourth-straight regional since Ludwig's arrival in 2022-23 with its selection to the Pullman Regional. BU captured the Guadalajara Invitational, its fifth-straight season with a team victory, meaning they have won at least one event every season since Ludwig's arrival. The Bears finished second at the Big 12 Championship, marking four-straight seasons with a top-three finish since Ludwig's got to Waco. Hannah Karg (t-6th) and Silje Ohma (t-9th) made the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, becoming the sixth and seventh players to garner that honor under Ludwig. The Bears finished the regular season ranked 12th in the GolfStat.com national rankings, and had an average finish of 4.11, the highest average finish in program history.
BU improved its wins per event for a second-straight season in 2021-22 and made the NCAA Championship for the second-straight season and the third time in four possible tournaments since Ludwig arrived in Waco. The Bears left no doubt they belonged in the NCAA Championship with a 14-shot win in the Stillwater Regional at the challenging Karsten Creek Golf Club. The win in Stillwater was the 11th in Ludwig’s tenure with the Bears and was a fourth-straight win by 12 shots or more. The No. 3 seed Bears shot a 54-hole total of 865, the second-best postseason score in program history. Gurleen Kaur, Rosie Belsham and Britta Snyder all tied for second with 2-under 214’s.
Baylor closed the regular season with a 12-shot win at the Bruzzy Challenge at Waterchase Golf Club. The Bears led the field with seven eagles en route to a 21-under 843, the seventh-best score relative to par in program history.
BU blew away the field in its first win of the season, a 30-shot victory at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. The Bears swept the top-three spots, and Kaur set a program record with her fourth career win.
During the 2020-21 season Ludwig helped the Bears to a Big 12-record five-straight team titles to open their season. On the strength of that torrid start, the Bears rose to No. 1 for the first time in program history. She also helped Kaur earn All-America honors for a third time in her career which made her just the second three-time All-American in program history. Kaur also joined Freshman Britta Snyder on the 2021 All-Big 12 team.
Under her guidance, the Bears set multiple school records in 2020-21 including two of the lowest tournament scores in program history. They first set the mark with a seven-under 833 at the Schooner Fall Classic, only to best that mark by seven shots in a 33-stroke victory over SMU at the Lone Star Invitational during the spring.
In her second season at Baylor, Ludwig helped lead Kaur and Chapelet to All-America honors, with Chapelet becoming the seventh All-America in program history and Kaur becoming the second Bear to earn All-America recognition in multiple seasons.
The 2019-20 Bears were ranked No. 20 nationally and had finished in the top-half of all eight tournament fields when the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BU won the SMU/DAC Invitational for the second tournament title in as many years with Ludwig as an assistant coach. Fiona Liddell and Kaur were tabbed as WGCA All-America Scholars and six Bears were named to Academic All-Big 12 teams.
In her first season at Baylor, Ludwig helped the Bears to a tie for eighth place at the 2019 NCAA East Lansing Regional. Kaur was named to the All-Big 12 team, and Diane Baillieux earned Big 12 All-Tournament team honors. Five Bears were named Academic All-Big 12, and Liddell and Jordan Shackelford were tabbed as WGCA All-American Scholars.
A Brownsburg, Ind., native, Ludwig helped lead San Diego State to NCAA Regional appearances in all three years as an assistant coach, and the Aztecs improved each season. SDSU finished in 12th place at the 2016 Stanford Regional, 11th place at the 2017 Lubbock Regional and seventh place at the 2018 San Francisco Regional.
The Aztecs’ 2018 seventh-place finish was the best in program history and fell one stroke shy of earning the program’s first NCAA Championship berth. After entering the final round in 11th place, SDSU carded a 1-under 287 to break the school record for best NCAA Tournament round and climb four spots into a tie for seventh place.
Ludwig was named 2013 Northeast Conference Coach of the Year after leading Central Connecticut State to a second-place finish at the NEC championship in her second season as head coach.
She also served as acting head coach of the CCSU men’s golf team during the 2014-15 season, helping the Blue Devils to a fifth-place finish at the NEC Championship.
As a player, Ludwig was a three-year letterwinner and All-American on the Cal State San Marcos women’s golf team. She earned first-team All-America honors as a senior after placing sixth at the 2008 NAIA Championships. A two-time team captain, Ludwig also earned NAIA Region II Player of the Year recognition after winning medalist honors at the regional tournament.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State San Marcos in 2008. Following graduation, Ludwig spent three years on the staff at the Santaluz Club in San Diego, where she gained experience as a golf instructor on both the adult and junior levels, and she managed the course’s tournament operations. Ludwig also competed professionally for two years on the Symetra Tour (formerly the LPGA Futures Tour) from 2009 through 2011.
Ludwig developed and directed a free golf clinic for children with type 1 diabetes in Cromell, Conn., partnering with First Tee of Connecticut and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in May 2015.
